Michael Jackson was part of an older generation (I’m a 90’s kid) but I won’t contest the impact he’s had on the entertainment business. He wasn’t perfect, but he was Michael. The world will remember him for his chart-topping singles, theatrical big-budget music videos, and complex dance routines, and craaazy footwork.
Nobody does it like MJ. Thriller remains the best-selling album of all time, with over 100 million copies sold worldwide. Remember when he first busted out the moonwalk? That man could DANCE.
Found out about his death after TMZ leaked the news (beating the Associated Press, CNN, and all the other networks by minutes, even hours). The news spread like wildfire. It was quite depressing.
I loved his taste in outerwear, like these BLING’d out over-the-top military jackets.
My favorite was the red leather motorcycle jacket MJ wore in “Beat It” with all the zippers. I saw someone wearing a replica of it at a concert, like the one below, and it was delicious — he found it abandoned in a closet somewhere in London.
