The Howard Hughes Medical Institute’s quarterly bulletin (a science magazine, of sorts) always has amazing scientific illustrations. I’ve saved a lot of the covers, but I never thought I’d run across any of the graphic artists again. The first two panels (below) are actually pinned up as part of my epic-magazine-collage-wallpaper. The main feature of that HHMI Aug ’07 issue was titled, “Tinkerers ~ Scientists with technical ingenuity are opening up new vistas to the finer parts of the cell.” Go figure I loved the article.
Adam Simpson draws killer retro microscopes and lively little people with strong shadows.
The one below, on the left, is called “A Tired Mind.” My head feels the same way.
